The wrong right answer
An exam paper lies on every desk in the room. Ben writes fast. “If I finish first, I will win.”
Sara stops at question four and chews her pen. The teacher walks between the desks with a marker in her hand.
At the end she carries a thick stack of papers away. She stops at Ben's answer with her red pen and reads the question again.
On the blackboard the question asks about a landmark, but the number is wrong. She smiles. “If the question is wrong, the answer will be wrong too.”
She puts a red mark on his paper. It is a good mark. Ben stares at it. “I won't say anything,” he thinks.
The red pen lies on the desk beside a bookmark and a small remark in pencil. Next week he reads every question first. Will he find the mistake?
